I'm guessing you opened this email to see if I made some sort of radical change to my appearance, so I could look and feel refreshed for my 63rd birthday, which is today. :)  Uhm...I wish I could say that I've gifted myself the time and energy to focus on upgrading and enhancing my physical appearance.  Uh uh.  As a writer, I struggle (don't ya know...) to live in the 3rd dimension. (Over the course of the last 6 months, I've written 2 new books, created 35 ed. info-graphics, and am currently in the process of completing the development of 5 videos, for use on various educational platforms.)

Needless to say, my husband is the one who tells me when my toenails need trimming. My dental hygienist is the one who informs me when I have a long whisker draped over the outer corner of my mouth that needs plucking. So, then...maybe your'e asking yourself the question: "Why did Candia put the words "My make-over" into the title of her email?" I put it there because I want to tell you about the electronic makeover that I, along with my husband, are doing together, for the purpose of "cleaning up" the harmful effects of electro-pollution on our health!

Many of you who read my newsletters, know that we moved into an apartment six months ago, due to a mold invasion in our home. We thought we found a safe temporary refuge in the apartment, but as we discovered, it is a "hot box." I'm not talking "hot"in terms of temperature. I'm talking hot in terms of radiation, dirty electricity, and electromagnetic fields.

After my husband suffered a heart incident last summer on the golf course (and he underwent a surgery procedure called an ablation, that didn't turn out so well), he developed EHS. Elecrto-Hypersensitivity Syndrome. Like me, who was disabled by EHS for many years (because of a brain infection, coupled with my sensitivity to digital pollution), he developed an extreme sensitivity to all things wired and wireless.

What exactly, is EHS, you might be wondering? EHS is considered an "environmental sensitivity." In some countries, such as Sweden, it is classified as a disability. Researchers estimate that approximately 3% of the population has severe symptoms of EHS, and another 35% of the population has moderate symptoms such as an impaired immune system and chronic illness. EHS "Refugees" represent a growing number of people that must relocate (from their homes and offices) to remote areas, in order to avoid exposure to cell towers and electrical wires, and e-sub-stations.

Like other environmental sensitivities, EHS presents with a variety of symptoms and it is common to have overlapping conditions. For instance, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and Fibromyalgia (both of which I have dealt with for many years), are common in people with EHS . Heart issues (such as the one my husband is dealing with) are also exacerbated by radiation and EMF's. The skin, the eyes, the respiratory system, the cardiac system, and the neurological system are all found to be adversely affected by exposure to cellphones, computers, and electrical devices of all kinds.

Every time you use a wireless device, you are exposed to microwave radiation. The WHO (World Health Organization) labels this radiation a Class 2B possible cancer-causing agent in the same category as lead, DDT, and chloroform.
