REDUCING MEAT, TO CURB GLOBAL HEAT!

REDUCING MEAT, TO CURB GLOBAL HEAT!

Recently, Ocean Robbins, the founder of the Food Revolution Network, sent out an email that gives me great hope. In his newsletter, he reported that China’s Health Ministry has released new dietary guidelines that will have profound implications for the health of people and the planet.

Here, from his blog is the great news!

The new guidelines encourage the nation’s 1.3 billion people to reduce their meat consumption by 50% between now and 2030. If achieved, they would lead to a reduction in meat consumption that would be greater than all the meat currently consumed in the United States!

The Chinese communist party has found unusual allies. Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Avatar producer James Cameron have produced a series of provocative videos aimed at supporting the cause.

Here’s a look behind the scenes at their efforts:

The primary goal of these new guidelines is to improve the health of the Chinese people. But this dramatic change would also have an extraordinary impact on the world’s climate, water supplies, and food security. Millions of lives would be saved, and greenhouse gas emissions would be reduced by a billion tons per year.

A global switch to diets that rely less on meat and more on fruit and vegetables would have staggering benefits, researchers from the Oxford Martin School reported in March 2016. Such a shift could save up to 8 million lives by 2050 and reduce food-related greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds, and lead to healthcare-related savings and avoided climate damages amounting to $1.5 trillion.

China’s new guidelines are a huge step in the right direction. And wouldn’t it be great if the US followed in China’s footsteps? Unfortunately, the U.S. is choosing to remain stuck in its old and destructive ways.

A recent initiative taken by the DGAC (Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee) to create a more sustainable eating model and eating guidelines was met with stiff resistance from the food industry and Congress, due to the economic interests and biases of the corporate food machine. And it looks like it will be an uphill battle when you consider the fight that Monsanto is putting up to block the public’s awareness about the GMO’s in our food supply.

Good News! A Sustainable Eating Model I’ve Created, Is Inviting Praise from Key Influencers

In the upcoming days, I’m going to be introducing you to a SUSTAINABLE eating model that I’ve created, which I’m very excited to share! I had the vision for this eating model several years ago, now, and I created it using the limited resources I had. About six months ago, I applied some graphic revisions to the first version, and got it approved for a trademark. (Yes, I’m serious about protecting and honoring all of the ideas that I’m inspired to create. And, if our government and politicians won’t provide the public with an honest education about the ways that big agriculture is hurting our health and the planet, I will!)

Over the past few years, I’m happy to tell you, my model had invited praise from a number of key influencers. I’ll be telling you more about this in an upcoming newsletter, so stay tuned! Also, if you are a home school parent or a nutritionist who wants to be on the cutting edge, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to participate in my “Eco-Intelligent Eating Advocate” Certification Training (offered online).
