DO YOU WALK ALONE ON PLANET EARTH? (Are You a ‘Chosen’ Woman?)

An Angel Led Me to Explore an Affirming YouTube Message

This morning, an angel sent me a link to a YouTube talk by Dr. Joe Dispenza titled “Why a Chosen Woman Always Walks Alone.” I feel honored to say that this angel wanted me to know that she viewed me as a ‘chosen’ woman. A chosen woman, she learned from Joe, is one who “embraces her uniqueness, rises above societal expectations, walks the path of self-discovery alone, and may be destined for greatness.”

The Message Made Me Feel Seen, Heard, and Deeply Understood

As I tuned into the podcast to hear Joe deliver his message, I felt a tear forming in each of my eyes. Honestly, it was one of those rare moments in my life when I felt who I am…what I am here to do on this earth…and how I'm doing it was being honored in the most meaningful and sacred way. As Joe elaborated on the qualities of the ‘chosen’ women, he pointed out that they are sometimes misunderstood because they think outside the box, -and are often undervalued because they don’t chase validation from the outside.

Chosen Women, I’ve Learned to See in Myself, Value Things that Others Don’t

Chosen women, Joe helped me to see in myself, tend to ignore the distractions that the modern world imposes on them. They are dreamers, meditators, and visionaries. They embrace nature and solitude, and they find confidence in isolation. They learn to view obstacles on their paths as opportunities to grow their spiritual muscles. They are unafraid to explore their shadow and search for parts of themselves they may have lost or disowned. They understand that their vulnerabilities demonstrate they are comfortable being their true selves – warts and all – and no measure of criticism from others can knock them off course. The chosen woman, Joe elaborated in his talk, digs deep to find the intelligent and wise parts of herself so she can use them in powerful ways to serve humanity. She knows that ‘what’ she brings ‘to’ the world is not necessarily ‘of’ this world.

A Request to Interview Me about My Memoir Led Me to Realize

that I Have Always Been a ‘Chosen’ Woman Who Walks Alone

Shortly after I listened to Joe’s YouTube talk about why the ‘chosen’ woman ‘always walks alone', I had the opportunity to validate the likelihood that I was this woman. I say this because I received a surprise request from the editors of Titan Books to be interviewed about my memoir, "Born to Live Green", which nudged me to revisit the long and winding road that led to its creation and the creation of many other companion books. While I don’t usually like to do live interviews (probably because as a ‘chosen’ woman, I sometimes wonder if I might say something that will be misconstrued or interpreted as abstract), I didn’t feel I could turn down the opportunity, given that they had just handed me the coveted Titan Literary Book Award! I was pleased, needless to say, when they sent me a list of questions that I could answer thoughtfully “on paper” in my free time without provocation.

Are You a ‘Chosen’ Woman?

Their questions and my responses follow in tomorrow's blog post, and I invite you to read them, contemplate your understanding of what a ‘Chosen’ Woman’s life path might look like, and decide if your life path reflects such a path. Being a 'chosen' woman is not for every woman. And that's okay, as long as one is clear on the idea that they "choose" not to be!

Being a 'Chosen' Woman Is Likely Not For...

·         Those who have FOMO (fear of missing out socially), and who tend to prefer the company of others over their own company.

·         Those who live to satisfy their material wants alone, are often influenced by social trends, family, friends, and fleeting emotions.

·         Those who chase dreams that aren't theirs and don't consider themselves aspirational.

·         Those who often experience fear or stress because of an inner need to prove something to others.

·         Those who choose predictability and control over surrender and trust.

·         Those who dislike deep introspection about themselves and the world (because introspection invites “growing pains.”)

·         Those who mistakenly think that recognizing their gifts is an ego trip rather than a humble acknowledgment of their uniqueness within the great tapestry of life.

Do You Have Some, But Not All, of the Traits of the Chosen Woman?

Is it possible, you may be wondering, to embody some of the traits of the 'chosen’ woman but not all of them? I would imagine, that yes, it’s possible. It’s not as though a chosen woman can’t have friends, or can’t enjoy what life has to offer. It's not as though she can't ever experience stress, confusion, or self-doubt. Rather, it’s about her realizing that the path leading to her transformation involves unlocking a way of life that is aligned with the needs of her body, mind, heart, and soul, and feels truly authentic to her. Being a ‘chosen’ woman, my personal experience has shown me, isn't about never experiencing moments of loneliness ("all-one-ness"), invisibility, heartache, discipline, or strife. But having lived through these states of "human-beingness", I can see how they have shaped me "for the better", and prepared me to help others.

Coming Up Tomorrow: My Interview, My "Walk Alone" Journey

In tomorrow’s newsletter/blog, I’ll share my interview with the editors of Titan Books, which illustrates my journey as a ‘chosen’ woman who has always walked alone. I’ll share the health and educational challenges I faced as a young woman AND the challenges I faced on the path to leadership as a mature woman. As you will see, my experiences led me to live a life rooted in authenticity and support others in doing the same.
