It’s National Teenagers Day! Woo-Hoo!

To celebrate, I’m dedicating this newsletter/blog to both teenagers and all those who have grown older but still have the teenage spirit within them.

I’m Offering 3 Teens or Young Adults Partial Scholarships

to Participate in my Eco-Mentor Training Courses

I’m also using this blog to let you know that I’ll be giving away three partial scholarships to some lucky people, who, like me, have a passion for healthy living and who wish to learn more about my six-step pathway to eco-intelligent living. These six steps are highlighted in my Eco-Mentor Apprentice training course and my Eco-Mentor Activist training course, which I mentioned in the news blogs that I posted yesterday and the day before.

We’ve All Been Teenagers At One Time

We’ve all been teenagers at one time. Do you remember your teen years? I’ve been thinking about mine lately because my class president recently sent me an update about our recent 50th class reunion, which I missed due to unforeseen circumstances.

As I reminisce about my teenage years, I recall that it was a rather exciting time in my life, compared to my childhood years when I was less outgoing. Yes, I faced the typical peer pressure and occasionally fended off bullies. I also dealt with a few awkward moments, such as when I saw my body changing, or when I danced with boys for the first time or exchanged first kisses. But at the same time, I enjoyed discovering more about who I was…how I was defining myself…and how I wanted to be perceived by others.

Sometimes my teenage friends and I would get a bad rap for being troublemakers, like the time I had a boy-girl slumber party at my house and we all snuck out in the middle of the night to take a joy ride on some golf carts, that were parked at the local golf course where my brother was employed. Other times, we’d be chastised for skipping a class and later handing a note to our teachers with a reason spelled out for our absence, which was supposed to be signed by a parent, but which we forged their signature on.

What I Wish I’d Had, But Didn’t, During My Teenage Years

If there’s anything I wish that I’d had during my teenage years that I didn’t have, it probably comes down to SUPPORT from my parents in the educational department of my life. While I had made it through primary and secondary school years okay with fairly good attendance and grades, --except for one year in grade school when a teacher created a learning environment that was too toxic for me, to learn in, --- I never liked the compulsory nature of school. I also didn’t care much for a few of the subjects we had to study such as math and world history. Unlike Home Ec. and English, they weren’t fun, in my eyes.

Because of My Health Issues, I Wanted to Study to Become a Naturopathic Doctor

Because of health challenges that I had faced while growing up, which unbeknownst to me at the time, represented the condition known as “environmental illness”, I entertained the idea of attending a college that would prepare me to become a naturopathic doctor. I wanted desperately to understand my “mystery illness", which I hadn’t yet learned, was caused by a burden of toxicity in my body. The initial burden happened when I was an embryo growing inside my mom's womb. And it was later exacerbated by my exposure to toxins in the outside world.

College Was Not in the Cards for Me

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at the situation, college was not in the cards for me. After missing my high school graduation due to illness, I found myself in a position of carving out an educational path that I believed would help me to recover my health. It was a path, mind you, that my dad and friends frowned upon because they didn’t understand that wellness care required a more patient and holistic approach than sick care, which typically relies on quick fixes, like drugs and surgery.

The path that led me to recover my health

involved learning about many different approaches to healing.

  • It involved learning about the importance of releasing my attachment to the status quo and my social conditioning which didn’t align with my authentic human needs.

  • It involved learning about the connection between the planet’s health issues and the ones that were impacting me, which were caused by living out of balance with nature’s wisdom.

  • It involved learning about the necessity of detoxifying my body and using whole, organically grown foods as a form of medicine to heal not only what ailed me, but what ailed the earth.

  • Most importantly, it involved developing the mind of a self-learner, a self-healer, and an everyday leader.

Many Teenagers and Young Adults Today Are Dealing with

Environmental Health Concerns and Facing an Uncertain Future

Many teenagers and young adults, I regret to say, are dealing with health issues similar to the ones I experienced as a teen, which they may not even realize are linked to their exposure to the toxic world we live in. The are breathing toxic air and drinking toxic water. They are dressing in toxic clothing, wearing toxic designer perfumes, and eating more than their fair share of processed junk foods. In many instances, they are not happy or hopeful about life because they see the collision course that humanity finds itself on with nature. They have serious doubts that the planet will remain habitable for them and their children.

Turning a Sad and Distressing Reality Around

While I admit it’s a sad and distressing picture to paint, we, as a culture, you might agree with me, can’t afford to kick the can down the road any longer. The time has come for us to discover how we can use our personal healing journeys as a catalyst for healing the planet.

How to Observe National Teenager Day

If you are the parent of a teenager, I encourage you to do something extra special for them today. Perhaps you could take them out for a wheat-free pizza, or a yummy dairy-free ice cream treat, and ask them if they’d be open to joining you in watching a webinar created by me, that will introduce both of you to my Eco-Mentor Apprentice training and my

Eco-Mentor Activist training. The webinar can be viewed here: https://www.ecointelligenteating.com/free-eco-mentor-webinar

In my 50-minute-long webinar which is divided into short easy-to-digest segments, you’ll get a better understanding of how the two training courses complement each other. You’ll also see how I present the courses as an “educational meal.” The reason I do this is because I believe that learning should be a delicious experience that nourishes one’s heart and soul in the learning process. In my thinking, this is especially important given the weightier, time-sensitive issues that my curriculums address.

How to Qualify for My Scholarships

If you are a teenager reading this, today is for you! Celebrate the day by embracing your age. Consider doing something that you might not think defines you as a teenager, but which offers to support you in being part of an educational legacy that has the potential to create true and lasting change in your home, community, and the world. If you are at least 16 years of age and you like what you see and hear in my webinar, send me a note by March 24th that tells me why you’d like to participate in my online program.

If You’re Chosen to Be One of My Students…

If I choose you to be one of my students, I will also write you an endorsement for your resume when you complete the course or courses. (Both are certification courses.) My Eco-Mentor Apprentice Certification Course is regularly $199. With the scholarship discount it is $149. My Eco-Mentor Activist Certification Course is regularly $708. With the scholarship discount it is $449.  If you purchase both courses together as a PROGRAM, you can get the whole course for $495.

This is a great opportunity to get healthier and be part of the solution that will help heal many of the social, environmental, and spiritual problems we face in our world today! And the value of the course can't be beaten, --especially if you consider the idea that you can collaborate on the learning journey with your mom, or maybe a sibling.

P.S. Moms, if you know someone who would appreciate this opportunity who is not on my email list, kindly consider forwarding my email to them! If you would like to speak with me live about the courses, please send me an email at: ecolearninglegacies@gmail.com
